The Chartered Accountants Program in Asia

The Chartered Accountants Program is offered in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. It is exactly the same program wherever you enrol. Because the Chartered Accountants Program is a gateway to membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, all modules are based on Australian accounting and auditing standards and legislation.

Focus sessions

Group (or focus) sessions are an important part of the Chartered Accountants Program learning techniques. They build real-life business knowledge and skills in communication, co-operation and negotiation.

In Asia, if there are sufficient numbers, the focus sessions are held in an intensive format over two days, sometimes on a weekend or in Friday/Sunday or Saturday/Monday combinations.

If enrolment numbers are low in one location candidates may be required to travel to attend the focus sessions. Candidates are notified of focus session dates after the late enrolment closing period.

Accredited organisations in Asia

While undertaking a technical module, candidates must work in an accredited organisation mentored by a Chartered Accountant. If you work for an organisation, which is not accredited, but employs an Australian Chartered Accountant, your organisation can apply for accreditation. There is some flexibility in these rules. Information about the rules and the service requirements can be found in the Chartered Accountants Program Regulations.
