Short on staff to undertake specific business projects?

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) Faculty of Business, runs a Corporate Internship Program aimed at engaging student leaders in a business project, elected by and therefore of direct relevance, to a public or private business organisation.

The student can count the business project towards completion of their degree. Internships are offered in semesters one and two, and are available to undergraduate students enrolled in their second or third year of a degree or combined degree within the Faculty of Business.

Students can undertake one or two days per week placements for 13 weeks with an Internship Sponsor, depending on project requirements.

Selection of interns is competitive and intended to replicate a real employment situation. The internship sponsor is required to provide a suitable staff person to mentor the student, and provide guidance to them in the workplace during the internship and assist with workplace assessment.

What a great way to provide a powerful and positive work place experience for a student whilst benefiting from the implementation of a project that may otherwise have remained only an idea.
