The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is about to release its annual report, which will contain findings from its review of professional accounting bodies processes around professional conduct, quality control and ethics. The report will be based on comprehensive reviews conducted by the FRC in the past 10 months.
The Institute welcomes the reviews, which it believes will promote transparency and help restore public confidence in the role of professional accounting bodies.
'The Institute has worked closely with the consultants appointed by the FRC to review our professional conduct, quality review and ethics functions,' said Bill Palmer, General Manager, Standards & Public Affairs.
'This review is timely for the Institute, as it follows a number of major initiatives we have delivered in the past 12 months to ensure our members are aware of and able to demonstrate the highest professional behaviours, as expected by the community that they serve.'
