The Institute’s inaugural Leadership in Government Awards are now open for nomination.  
 
Initiated to publicly recognise and celebrate exceptional leaders in the public sector, the Leadership in Government Awards will also help to raise the profile of the Chartered Accountants brand within the sector. 
 
Members operating in the public sector are encouraged to nominate themselves or their colleagues, for the Federal Government Leader of the Year Award.  
 
The focus of the awards is to celebrate innovation, strategic thinking and visionary leadership among government leaders in Australia. We encourage members to nominate now if they believe a colleague represents these qualities.  
 
The winner of the Federal Government Leader of the Year Award will be announced at an exclusive function in early October. All the relevant details, including how to nominate, rules of entry and judging criteria, can be found at Leadership in Government Awards. 
 
Nominations will remain open until Friday, 31 July 2009. Those eligible for the Federal Government Leader of the Year Award must be a current employee of the Australian Public Service (as of Monday 1 June 2009).
