Discussion opens for third Student Challenge entries

Chartered Accountants are invited to review the responses to the third Student Challenge on figureditoutyet.com.au from Monday, 9 June 2008. 
 
The third challenge with the Australian Conservation Foundation, commenced on Monday, 26 May 2008 and asked students to develop strategies to minimise the impact of a potential recession on the Australian Conservation Foundation’s organisation and activities. 
 
The two-week judging process for the Australian Conservation Foundation Australia challenge will begin on Monday, 9 June 2008 and take into account the listed reviews for each submission. 
 
The first challenge with Oxfam Australia attracted 21 teams of business and commerce students from around Australia and Monash University student Jarrod Bayliss-McCulloch was announced as the overall winner.  
 
The second challenge was with Médecins Sans Frontières Australia, the Australian section of the world’s leading independent medical-humanitarian aid organisation, attracting 18 teams. Students were asked to formulate seven key performance indicators for areas such as cost effectiveness, human resources, awareness and independence and ethics. 
 
Background 
The Student Challenge launched in March introduces students to Chartered Accounting and offers them an opportunity to present their solutions to the organisations leaders and travel to see their cause in action as well as win Apple Mac laptops and iTouchs.
