Julie Crisp awarded institute president's prize

Julie Crisp, a Client Director for Audit at Deloitte in Darwin has won the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia prestigious President’s Prize.  
 
Presented this evening at the Institute’s Northern Territory cocktail function by the Institute’s NT and SA General Manager, Mark Jones, the President’s Prize is an annual award presented to a young Chartered Accountant who has helped raise the profile of the Institute and that of Chartered Accountants. 
 
“Julie has made an outstanding contribution to the Institute and is a strong ambassador for Chartered Accountants in the Northern Territory. Her involvement as Chairman of the Northern Territory Liaison Committee and as a Northern Territory Regional Councillor for the Institute, to name a few, are stand out,” said Robert DiMonte, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. 
 
In addition, Julie has taken an active involvement with Darwin’s next generation of Chartered Accountants as a facilitator for the Chartered Accountant Program, the post-graduate diploma accountants take to become Chartered Accountants. Her involvement with the Northern Territory Liaison Committee also ensures she is involved in member and career events promoting Chartered Accounting. 
 
Julie also regularly works in the wider community with the Charles Darwin University in relation to course accreditation, orientation, careers fairs and information evenings. 
 
“Julie’s overall commitment to the Institute and the profession is unwavering, and her enthusiasm, drive and willingness to get involved make her an extremely valued and respected member.  
This award is very well deserved,” said Mark Jones, General Manager for NT and SA, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. 
 
Julie is a Northern Suburbs Darwin resident and will receive $1000 for her award as well as recognition in the industry for her achievement.  
 
The President’s Prize was instigated in 1996 by former Institute President David Smithers to acknowledge the contribution made by young members under the age of 35.
