Institute announces new national president

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia today announced the appointment of Rob DiMonte to the role of President.  
 
As President, DiMonte will lead the Board in setting and governing the strategic direction of the Institute. His appointment follows a series of external posts for DiMonte, including Deputy Chair of SA Great and Chairman of VIVA SA. He is also a Member of the Institute of Company Directors and a Certified Management Consultant. 
 
DiMonte brings a wealth of business acumen to the role. He is the Managing Partner for Deloitte in Adelaide and has specialised, over the past 25 years, in the provision of audit, tax and management consulting services to many small to large businesses in the areas of Energy / Utilities, Telecommunications, Public Sectors and Manufacturing. 
 
Rob has also been at the forefront of the development of leading consulting techniques and worldwide best practice trends and in more recent years, has assisted clients re-engineer their business processes to world class standards.  
 
Announcing DiMonte’s appointment, Graham Meyer, CEO of the Institute said: "The Institute is set to gain a great deal from Rob’s leadership. In particular his extensive experience in audit, tax and advisory arenas will provide invaluable insight at a time when our members are working in an environment with increasing technical, governance and regulatory issues”.  
 
DiMonte added: "I am looking forward to working on behalf of the Institute's 45,000 plus members and contributing to the future direction of the profession".
