Globe trotting members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants can now access a series of reciprocal benefits, which were launched by the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) today. The benefits are available to members working in locations such as Great Britain, America and Hong Kong, to mention but a few.

As of today, members of the GAA can enjoy invitations to networking opportunities, training and development and access to websites and publications, which will provide them with a professional ‘home away from home’.

The GAA brings together the nine pre-eminent professional accounting member bodies in Australia, the United States, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Hong Kong and England & Wales.
It is the world’s largest international accounting coalition and represents over 700,000 of the world’s leading professional accountants. The Institute is the only Australian accounting body within the alliance.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Chief Executive Officer, Graham Meyer said the alliance aims to develop a global approach to the accounting profession servicing the major capital markets and is a key platform of the Institute's global positioning strategy.

“The GAA cements the Institute’s position as Australia’s leading accounting body and provides a powerful vehicle for the Institute to promote the growth of the international accounting profession.

“The new member benefits provide real value to Australian Chartered Accountants, who work across six continents and throughout 1090 cities globally,” he said.

The GAA was launched in April 2006 to promote quality professional services, provide global membership support, share information and collaborate on important international issues.
