The search begins for the number one Business Leader

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia is calling for nominations, as the search begins for this year’s number one business leader. 
 
Previous winners of the high profile Business Leader of the Year Award include Allan Moss, Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Bank; Malcolm Broomhead, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Orica; Michael Chaney, Managing Director of Wesfarmers; and Paul Little, Managing Director of Toll Holdings. 
 
Chartered Accountants Business Leader of the Year nominees will be judged on their ability to demonstrate visionary leadership, exhibit best practice, show innovation and take risks, foster positive employee relations and contribute to the community. 
 
The Institute’s Chief Executive, Graham Meyer said the awards, now entering their eighth year, and for the second time partnered by Perpetual, have grown remarkably in profile to be one of Australia’s premier business events. 
 
“Australian business talent is now better than ever before and it’s these people that give us a reason to celebrate leadership. The Institute remains dedicated to recognising such leadership, and so is calling for nominations for this year’s number one business leader,” Mr Meyer said. 
 
Nominations can be submitted via the Institute of Chartered Accountants website at: charteredaccountants.com.au/businessawards. 
 
Nominations for the Awards close on 11th November, when the judging panel will convene to review the nominations.  
 
The winner will be announced at Sydney Town Hall on Friday 9th March 2007.
