Jane Stanton awarded Institute President's Prize

Jane Stanton, an Associate Director at Macquarie Bank has won the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia prestigious President’s Prize.  
 
Presented today at The Institute’s NSW Board Christmas cocktail function, the President’s Prize is an annual award presented to a young Chartered Accountant that has helped raise the profile of the Institute and that of Chartered Accountants. 
 
“Jane has made an outstanding contribution to the Institute and is a strong ambassador for Chartered Accountants inside the Institute, at Macquarie Bank and in the wider community. As a trainer and a Chartered Accountant Jane has proved she is able to use her skills effectively to the benefit of others,” said Stuart Black, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. 
 
For the last five years Stanton has been actively involved in the Chartered Accountant Program, the post-graduate diploma accountants take to become Chartered Accountants.  
 
“Jane is a facilitator for the compulsory focus sessions within the Chartered Accountant Program as well as a marker and the key Chartered Accountant Program coordinator at Macquarie Bank. The constant enthusiasm and energy she displays for the Institute and support she offers those becoming Chartered Accountants is incessant. This award is very well deserved,” said Stephen Harrison, Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. 
 
Stanton, an Elizabeth Bay resident will receive $1000 for her award as well as recognition in the industry for her achievement. She is actively involved in the local community with roles such as the Treasurer of the Waverley / Woollahra Community Arts Centre, and offering accounting advice to Edmund Rice Centre for Justice and Community Education in Croydon. 
 
The President’s Prize was instigated in 1996 by former Institute President David Smithers to acknowledge the contribution made by young members under the age of 35.
