NUMBER ONE IN NUMBERS seeks number one Business Leader

The Institute of Chartered Accountants is calling for nominations, as the search begins for the number one business leader to be named the Chartered Accountants Business Leader, proudly sponsored by Perpetual in 2005.  
 
Previous winners of the high profile Business Leader Award include, Malcolm Broomhead, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Orica; Michael Chaney, Managing Director of Westfarmers; and Paul Little, Managing Director of Toll Holdings  
 
Chartered Accountants Business Leader nominees will be judged on their ability to translate vision into reality, exhibit best practice, foster good employee relations and lead by example in areas of social and corporate responsibility.  
 
The Institute’s Chief Executive, Stephen Harrison said, the high-profile Awards were in their seventh year and held more significance this year than ever before.  
 
“There are greater expectations on today’s business leaders than ever before. Today’s business leaders must be able to combine a solid financial performance with the ability to inspire employees and ethically run a business. We are looking for someone who not only combines these attributes but does it with clarity and passion,” Mr Harrison said.  
 
Nominations can be submitted via the Institute of Chartered Accountants website which is: www.icaa.org.au/businessawards.  
 
Nominations for the Awards close on Friday 26th August 2005 when the judging panel will convene to review the nominations.  
 
The winner will be announced at Sydney Town Hall on Friday 4th November.
