Key points A new series of factsheets has been launched by the Institute, focussing on small-to-medium enterprises The first factsheet provides a practical guide for starting a business.
Following the success of the global economic downturn series of factsheets, today the Institute is launching a series dedicated to small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).
The protracted economic downturn, and a sharp rise in unemployment, has seen an increase in the number of small business owners. So these new factsheets will be a useful resource to share with SME clients.
The first factsheet SME Factsheet One: Starting your own business is written by Sue Prestney FCA, a partner at MGI Melbourne. Ms Prestney is the Institute's spokesperson for SMEs and has a regular column in the Institute's Charter magazine.
The factsheet is part of the Institute's ongoing efforts to provide members with guidance and information on key issues affecting the current business environment.
