Changes to Assessing Criteria from 1 July 2010

From 1 July 2010 the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia assessment criteria for General Skills Migration will be as follows:

  • A formal qualification assessed as being at least comparable to an Australian Bachelor degree.
  • Completion of at least 9 out of the 12 core knowledge areas at tertiary level. Each nominated occupation has 4 compulsory core knowledge areas and 5 optional areas – please refer to the table below.

If you are applying for General Skills Migration the following documentation is required:
  • IELTS Academic Test Report Form (TRF) Number to show you have a band score of at least seven (7) on each of the four (4) components – speaking, reading, listening and writing;
  • or Evidence of completion of the Skilled Migration Internship Program Accounting: (SMIPA)

Please note that from 1 July 2010 a successful assessment is valid for two years from the assessment outcome date.
