Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Chartered Accountant qualification offers you advantages that no other designation can.

They are a guarantee to employers and clients that they are dealing with a reputable professional – someone who has met the academic, ethical and practical requirements of the Institute.

Chartered Accountants consistently attain executive positions in business and public practice, large and small, and are some of the highest salary earners in Australia.

To obtain membership of the Institute, you are required to:

Have completed the Chartered Accountants Program; or

Be a current member of an approved Overseas Accounting Body

Alternatively, if you do not meet one of the above criteria but are becoming a partner in a Chartered firm, you are required to become an Affiliate of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Your approval as an Affiliate allows the firm to continue to practice as a Chartered Firm.

If you do not meet any of the above criteria, you are required to have your qualifications assessed for eligibility to do the Chartered Accountants Program.
