Public Practice Advisory Committee was formed to meet the needs of Chartered Accountants in public practice, other than the Big 4 firms. These members, from small to medium sized practices, make up a very large percentage of the Institute’s membership and there is a special range of issues that the Committee can address on their behalf.

The Committee focuses on broad issues such as setting strategies and establishing priorities that will further the interests of the sector and of the larger Institute community. Some issues of importance to Public Practice Advisory Committee’s constituency that have been identified to date are staffing and recruitment, advocacy, tax reform, ownership of firms, the Public Practice Program, and Quality Review.

Small Medium Practice (SMP) in Review: In 2004 the Public Practice Advisory Committee undertook a study to establish how the Institute could better support members and address the issues they are facing in their day-to-day business. Further details are available on the Small Medium Practice page.
