The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia has lodged its comments on the proposed structure of the Australian Emissions Trading Scheme (AETS) issued by the Garnaut Review (Review). The Institute supports the introduction of the AETS as part of the Review’s approach to mitigating emissions. However, we consider there to be three key areas that have not been addressed in the discussion paper which are detailed in our submission.
