Recently issued Model Accounts for 31 December 2008 and 30 June 2009 reporting 
 
Below are links to various sets of recently issued Australian model financial statements that can assist members with the preparation of their annual financial statements for 31 December 2008 and 30 June 2009. These are freely available on the web for members to download.

  • Ernst and Young’s Endeavour (International) Limited has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Corporations Act 2001 and Australian Accounting Standards providing interpretive commentary on the disclosure requirements, where necessary. The edition is based on standards and interpretations on issue at 31 October 2008.  
     
  • KPMG's Example Public Company Limited - Annual Financial Report reflects AASBs on issue as at 31 August 2008 that must be applied by an entity with annual period beginning on or after 1 January 2008. AASBs that are not yet mandatory have not been adopted early in preparing these illustrative financial statements.
 
 
Specimen AIFRS compliant financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2008 
 
Specimen AIFRS compliant financial statements to assist members with the preparation of financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2008 are readily available and have recently been updated to reflect all the changes that are applicable (including AASB 7 Financial Instruments: Disclosures).

  • Deloitte’s 2008 Illustrative Annual Reports  
     
    This publication provides an illustrative example of the annual and concise financial reports to be prepared by Australian reporting entities with 31 December 2008 financial year ends. It also includes illustrative AASB 7 Financial Instruments: Disclosures and AASB 2007-4 Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards arising from ED 151 and other amendments disclosures and examples of s300 Corporations Act 2001 amendments relating to executive remuneration.  
     
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers’ 2008 VALUE AIFRS Holdings series 
     
    It illustrates the new disclosures required under AASB 7 Financial Instruments: Disclosures, the removal of certain disclosures following the release of AASB 2007-4 Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards arising from ED 151 and Other Amendments, changes in accounting policy to early adopt the new interpretation on accounting for customer loyalty schemes (AASB Interpretation 13), illustration of the impact of the revised AASB 101 Presentation of Financial Statements, which was issued in September 2007 and how the segment note may change when AASB 8 Operating Segments is implemented etc. 
     
  • Grant Thornton's Example Consolidated Financial Statements for 31 December 2008 
     
    This publication contains sample financial statements that are prepared in accordance with IFRS. They also reflect the early adoption of IAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements (Revised) and IFRS 8 Operating Segments.
