What is a supplementary exam? 
How do I qualify to sit the exam?

Q: What is a supplementary exam? 
 
A: A supplementary exam is an additional sitting to the original exam for each technical module.  
 
This allows candidates who fall into the eligible criteria a chance to complete the exam component without having to repeat the entire module. 
 
A supplementary exam is not availabe for the EBA exam.

Q: How do I qualify to sit the exam? 
 
A: In order to be eligible to sit the supplementary exam, you must have either: 
 
- received a mark of 32 - 39 in your original exam; or 
- attempted and failed the exam in your final technical module (no minimum mark required); or 
- applied and been approved for special consideration. 
 
If you are eligible to sit the supplementary exam you will be sent an email advising when and how to enrol.

Q: Is there a fee to sit the supplementary exam? 
 
A: Yes - there is an enrolment fee of $572 to sit the supplementary exam. 
 
The only exception to this fee is if you have applied for and been granted special consideration for the module, resulting in the waiver of the fee. You will be notified in writing if this applies to you.

Q: I can‘t sit the supplementary exam on the specified date. Can I just sit the exam in the next module offering? 
 
A: No - if you don’t take the option of sitting the supplementary exam you will need to complete the entire module again.

Q: Is the supplementary exam more difficult than the original exam? 
 
A: Although the questions in the supplementary exam are not the same as the original exam, they have been selected using the same criteria and ensure that they are of the same standard as the original exam.

Q: Can I use a bulk enrolment code to pay for the supplementary exam? 
 
A: No - we do not accept payment for the supplementary exam through bulk enrolment codes. You will need to enrol online using credit card.
