Do I have to have my qualifications assessed? 
When do I need to submit my application for assessment? 
How am I notified about the outcome of the assessment of my qualifications? 
 
Q: Do I have to have my qualifications assessed? 
 
A: If you hold Australian or overseas qualifications not accredited by the Institute or you are a member of a partially recognised overseas professional accounting body, we will need to complete an assessment of your qualifications before you lodge an enrolment.

Q: When do I need to submit my application for assessment? 
 
A: It depends on your qualification. 
 
  • Non-accredited Australian degree or you are a member of a partially recognised overseas professional accounting body – Your assessment application should be lodged no later than no later than one month prior to enrolment open of the module you wish to undertake.
  •  
     
  • Overseas Qualifications – Your assessment application should be lodged in accordance with current processing times
  •  
     
  • Non-accounting qualifications to be assessed for the purposes of enrolling in the Deakin Graduate Certificate in Chartered Accounting Foundations - you will need to submit your assessment application at least six weeks prior to the below Deakin Semester application closing dates:  
     
    2009 Trimester 1 closing date: 23 February 2009
  •  
    2009 Trimester 2 closing date: 29 June 2009

Q: How am I notified about the outcome of the assessment of my qualifications? 
 
A: When the assessment is complete, the Institute will send you a letter of assessment. The assessment letter will indicate any additional study needed for entry to the Chartered Accountants Program.
