Vacation Employment


A chance to assess high quality second and penultimate year accounting students before the graduate recruitment season begins.

How it works

The Vacation Employment Program consists of a series of events, the Chartered Accountants Vacation Employment Evening run in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

In Sydney, employers have the opportunity to participate in on-campus presentations and events at Macquarie University, UNSW, University of Sydney, UTS and UWS.

The events are your chance to meet quality accounting students looking to work, and to learn during their university summer holidays.

  • You meet students face-to-face, answering – and asking – the important questions and getting to know potential recruits before they graduate
  • You increase your profile among second and penultimate year students

In addition to meeting students you also get:
  • Your logo on promotional collateral
  • Exhibition space at the event
  • Acknowledgement in relevant national public relations campaigns
  • Inclusion in the employers’ section of the Vacation Guide. The Guide is a popular and comprehensive list of all employer vacation opportunities
  • Inclusion in The Institute e-bulletin (a fortnightly publication to members)
  • Inclusion in the Employer Participation Guide – online portal which drives potential vacationers directly to your organisation’s careers website.

Your involvement

To become a part of the Vacation Employment Evening all you need to do is:

  • Offer at least one vacation position
  • Pay a participation fee which covers venue costs and catering and an employer profile in the Vacation Guide
  • Send at least one recruitment staff member to the event.
