Achiever Work Experience

Get the best accounting students working in your business for a few weeks. And you may want to keep them…

How it works

Chartered Accountants Achiever Work Experience gives your organisation the chance to employ high achieving accounting students at the end of their first year of study. Over the past few years, many successful applicants have gone on to work with participating organisations during their university holidays. Many others became vacation and even graduate recruits.

Students apply for Achiever Work Experience by completing an online application form. A panel of Institute staff, employers and university careers staff screen all applications and the best candidates are then requested to attend an interview session.

The Institute staff, volunteer employer representatives and university careers staff conduct the student interviews and are looking for candidates with drive, initiative, problem solving skills, maturity and a propensity toward a Chartered Accounting career. Once the final group of students are selected, you are then informed of the details of your successful work experience student and negotiate start dates directly with them.

Benefits for your organisation:

  • You meet the best and brightest accounting students in their first year and assess their quality – on the job – well before they hit the graduate market

  • It’s a powerful way to increase awareness of your organisation with the first year students.

You get:

  • Your logo on promotional collateral

  • Acknowledgement in relevant national public relations activities

  • Inclusion in the Institute’s Student e-news and Employer e-news (bi-monthly electronic newsletters) and e-bulletin (a fortnightly electronic newsletter that goes to all members).

  • Inclusion in the Employer Participation Guide – online portal which drives potential recruits directly to your organisation’s careers website.
