Welcome to this special edition of Employer e-news. It will ensure you are up-to-date with two recent changes to the Chartered Accountants Program - the removal of the 26 week pre-requisite service requirements and changes to assessment in the EBA module.

Enrolments for Term 2 are currently running at 1,300 above forecast. It is still not too late to enrol your graduates in TAX209 or AAA209.

arrow Pre-requisite service requirements waived from Term 2 2009
The Institute is taking a flexible approach to the changing needs of employers and candidates in the current environment. As a result, the Board approved the suspension of the 26 weeks' pre-requisite service entry requirements for candidates already in employment, for a 12 month trial.

arrow Changes to the EBA module
The Institute is committed to ensuring the ongoing rigour and relevance of the Chartered Accountants Program. As a result, the Ethics and Business Application (EBA) module will now be assessed by a final exam from EBA209 onwards. This change has been carefully considered in consultation with the Institute's Education Board.

arrow 2009/2010 Chartered Accountants Program module fee increase deferred to Term 3 2009
To assist candidates and their employers in the current financial environment, a CPI related increase to module fees in the Chartered Accountants Program, has been deferred until Term 3 2009.

The Institute has formalised an arrangement with the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants to facilitate delivery of the Chartered Accountants Program in Malaysia.
