The Institute is committed to ensuring the ongoing rigour and relevance of the Chartered Accountants Program. As a result, the Ethics and Business Application (EBA) module will now be assessed by a final exam from EBA209 onwards. This change has been carefully considered in consultation with The Institute's Education Board.

The Institute is committed to ensuring the ongoing rigour and relevance of the Chartered Accountants Program.

From Term 2, 2009, the final module, Ethics and Business Application (EBA) will be assessed by a final examination.

The current assessment (Project 1 and Project 2) will be removed as will assessment of candidates' performance in the focus sessions. These changes were driven by the need to meet the standards and expectations of members and the profession; meet best practice testing methods; and strengthen the Institute's international equivalence.

The change, approved by the Institution Board, has been carefully considered in consultation with The Institute's Education Board, and will ensure that the Chartered Accountants Program continues to deliver accounting professionals equipped to add immediate value and perform at the highest level.

Sheena Frenkel, General Manager of the Chartered Accountants Program, commented "the qualities enshrined in the Chartered Accounting designation for independence and transparency and the trust placed in the profession by business and the public will be reinforced by this change."

To find out more about this change and what it means to the candidates you place through the Program, please see the attached FAQ document and revised timetable or call 1300 137 322.
