Chartered Accountants Program

The Chartered Accountants Programs is a postgraduate diploma that offers professional training combined with practical experience. Study is undertaken while working in a relevant role and is only open to candidates with suitable academic qualifications and work experience.

There are five modules combining advanced specialist and technical knowledge with the development of professional business skills. The modules are: Audit & Assurance, Financial Accounting & Reporting, Management Accounting & Analysis, Taxation and Ethics & Business Application.

There is a three-year work-based component of the Program, which candidates take under the guidance of an experienced mentor. Candidates complete the practical experience while studying the Program.

To enrol in the Program candidates need to have completed:
>An approved degree from an accredited education provider
>Twenty-six weeks of full-time relevant work experience mentored by a Chartered Accountant.

Graduates from non-accounting backgrounds are eligible to enrol in the Program if they also have:
>A sponsoring employer, and
>Passed the Institute’s entrance examination, or
>Have successfully completed other study approved by the Institute.

Ninety-nine per cent of employers with staff on the Chartered Accountants Program speak favourable of the Program.
