Day to Day supervision – first point of contact
Ensuring candidate has the opportunity to develop the required CA competencies in their current job-role
Regular reviews of candidate logbook records, usually incorporated into existing meetings
First level sign-off on logbook competencies confirming accuracy of evidence recorded
Where there is a separate Chartered Accountant mentor involved, managers are not required to be a CA
The manager and mentor role can be carried out by one person, if they are a CA
