As soon as you commence employment and make the decision to work toward the Chartered Accountant designation, we recommend you submit to the Institute sections 1 and 2 of the Employment Details Form so you can begin tracking your practical experience. You are not required to wait until you can enrol into your first module before you register with the Practical Experience Program. 
 
Getting started is a simple three-step process as follows: 
 
Step 1 - Register with the Institute 
Register online with the Institute as a ‘potential candidate’. Once you have registered, you will receive a welcome email and access to the Candidate Practical Experience Guidelines. Please do not register again if you have previously registered online or have submitted a qualifications assessment with the Institute. 
 
Step 2 - Submit your signed Practical Experience Agreement 
Once you have confirmed whom your manager and Chartered Accountant mentor will be, you will need to submit sections 1 and 2 of the Employment Details Form (Practical Experience Agreement) with the Institute. 
 
Step 3 - Start tracking your experience 
Once your Letter of Agreement has been registered, the Institute will provide you with access to your Candidate Practical Experience Activity Log via myCA within 10 business days of your registration date. Your manager/mentor will also receive access to their resources.
