From time to time, the President is requested to nominate a member or members of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia whom, or one of whom, might then be appointed to perform certain valuation, accounting or other functions or services.

Parties who wish the President of the Institute to nominate a member to act as an expert in a contractual dispute, or to provide certain services, will now be referred to the on-line Find a Chartered Accountant service.

Find a Chartered Accountant is an on-line service that seeks to assist third parties in locating a Chartered Accountant with a particular field of expertise. This service enables a search for a Chartered Accountant in a specific suburb or state, by industry specialisation and by service type.

This is an opt-in service for members therefore it will not show every Chartered Accountant in a particular suburb or state, industry specialisation or service type, rather just those who have elected to be part of this service.

The Institute does not involve itself in the appointment of a Member or the provision of services by a Member. It is the responsibility of the parties involved in the matter to make and rely upon their own inquiries regarding a Member or Members selected from the on line service, contact them to discuss and agree fees with them, and to formally appoint the Member they choose.
