When can you subscribe to the Business Valuation Special Interest Group?  
 
You can join the Business Valuation Special Interest Group by making the appropriate selection on the annual Institute of Chartered Accountants member subscription form, which will be sent out in early June. Online subscription to the group will also be available from early June.  
 
Who can subscribe? 
 
Subscription to the group is open to anyone - this includes Chartered Accountants or people who are not members of the Institute, but have an interest in the area. Simply subscribe and pay the annual subscription fee. 
 
How much does it cost to subscribe? 
 
Annual membership of the group is the same as the Institute's other special interest groups (SIG) - currently AUD$110 including GST. 
 
What benefits are there in subscribing? 
 
As with other SIGs it is a means for the Institute to provide support for members in emerging/or specialist areas of practice. Benefits include:

  • Having a voice on issues relevant to members  
  • Identifying issues affecting the whole of the industry 
  • Developing and maintaining standards and being involved in international standards 
  • Achieving recognition as a professional group - increasing market awareness of Chartered Accountants as the preferred business advisory and valuation professional 
  • Networking with peers 
  • Working with alliance partners to strengthen the position of the group and enhance skills and knowledge.
Like other SIGs, subscribers will receive an online newsletter with up-to-date information on business valuation and other activities conducted by the group. There is a committee of interested members currently working further on these aspects. 
 
How to subscribe? 
 
NEW SUBSCRIPTION OPTION 
 
The yearly subscription renewal period occurs in June each year for the special interest groups. If you decide to join the group late in the year the Institute now offers a 6 month subsription option for $55 from January onwards, so that you get value for money. 
 
To subscribe, please log-in to the Institute website and go to 'My subscriptions' > 'Pay subscriptions' and click on the 'add item' button on the right-hand side and bottom of the screen.
