This month the Institute is holding it’s Public Sector Forum and Forensic Accounting Special Interest group where we look forward to welcoming members and guests:  
 
Public Sector Forum 
Held quarterly in the ACT, the Institute is pleased to hold a regular forum for its public sector members and those who work closely with government. On Friday, 7 August a presentation and panel discussion: The Future of Audit will be held.  
 
The lunchtime event will see a panel of four senior government executives each with an allocated ten minutes to present their agencies views and considerations. This will be followed by a group panel discussion and question and answers from attendees.  
 
Forensic Accounting Special Interest Group 
On Friday, 28 August the next breakfast seminar in this highly successful series will be held. The topic: From HIH to ABC – the evolution of Forensic Accounting in Australia presented by Mike Garnett. 
 
Mark Garnett, Partner of McGrathNicol Forensic, is a qualified investigator and forensic technology practitioner with 14 years experience as a Detective in the Queensland Police Service and over seven years specialist forensic experience. Mark managed the forensic technology analysis, investigation and data warehousing of all electronic information and data relating to the HIH corporate collapse, and has more recently been involved in the high profile ABC Learning and Great Southern matters from a forensic accounting perspective. Mark is one of Australia’s foremost digital evidence and forensic accounting experts, and is well placed to deliver a nationally significant presentation on how forensic accounting has evolved over the past decade.
