2008-2010 strategic framework for The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia

In order to ensure that the Institute is on the right track, the Board, at its October and December meetings, undertook a substantial review of our Strategic Plan and agreed on the 2008-2010 Plan.

Amendments were made to reflect the changing environment including a greater focus on our leadership positioning nationally and, via GAA, globally and the addition of a new strategic objective around having appropriate infrastructure and processes to be responsive to member needs.

The Strategic Plan reflects our response to current and long-term issues and trends facing the Institute. In order to achieve our vision of Leading the Profession, the Institute continues to focus on ensuring its relevance to members and other stakeholders including doing for members what they individually cannot do themselves in the areas of training and development, brand promotion, lobbying, representing the profession and influencing the business community.

Accomplishing the objectives set out in the Plan will ensure the Institute becomes ever more relevant to members, maintains its influence with governments and regulators, is more competitive and globally relevant, has a sustainable and growing membership, and is able to attract and recruit the best staff.
