Chartered Accountants Benevolent Fund Ltd

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (the Institute) is pleased to announce the creation of the Chartered Accountants Benevolent Fund Ltd. The Institute is in the process of applying for the fund to become a registered charity. 
 
The principal objective of the Chartered Accountants Benevolent Fund is to operate as a non-profit charitable institution for the benefit of the whole community and in particular, members of the Institute and their dependents who have special needs. 
 
To achieve its objectives the fund undertakes to: 

  • Assist current and former members of the Institute and their dependents who have special needs due to disability, financial hardship or trauma
  •  
  • Provide assistance to dependents of members of the Institute who are financially disadvantaged
  •  
  • Provide scholarships and support to other disadvantaged individuals who wish to undertake the Chartered Accountants Program and become a member of the Institute
  •  
  • Introduce programs to assist new migrants to become members of the Institute
  •  
  • Undertake any other activities deemed by the Board to be compatible with those set out above
 
In addition, the fund will provide general community support by promoting, enhancing and financing other community activities designed to promote child and youth education, youth leadership programs and improved financial literacy. 
 
Fundraising activities will include seeking donations from past and present Institute members, corporate sponsors and the wider business community.
