AFA: ASEAN Federation of Accountants
The Institute is an associate member of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants, the umbrella organisation for the national associations of accounting professionals of the member countries of the Association of South East Asian Nations.

CAPA: Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants
The Institute is one of the Australian representatives of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants, which represents national accountancy organisations in the Asia-Pacific region. CAPA has a membership of 34 accountancy organisations in 24 jurisdictions. In 2009, the Institute joined the CAPA Environmental Accounting and Corporate Social Responsibility Project, examining the impact of climate change legislation on the accounting profession.

The Institute is one of the founding members of the Global Accounting Alliance, made up of 11 of the world's leading accounting bodies, brought together to promote quality services, share information and collaborate on important international issues.

The Institute is a member of the International Federation of Accountants, the global organisation for the accountancy profession. IFAC works with its 159 members and associates in 124 countries and jurisdictions to protect the public interest by encouraging high quality practices by the world's accountants.
