The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (the Institute) offers accounting students the opportunity for an 48 hour onsite skills assessment service.
What is the 48 hour onsite skills assessment service?
It's the opportunity to have your skills assessed within 48 hours. The only time this option is available is when the Institute holds an on-campus event.
Who is eligible for this service?
Undergraduate and post graduate accounting students from Central Queensland University (CQU Sydney) and The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney). This service is offered exclusively onsite at these universities, at various times throughout the year.
What does the onsite service include?
- Choice of 48-hour turnaround of a skills assessment (AUD$450) or 2 week turnaround (AUD$400).
- Verification of qualifications for the Chartered Accountants Program Students who wish to have their qualifications assessed are required to prepare the following documents to be lodged on the day:
- Pre Application Skills Assessment (PASA) form. Hard copies are also available from the Institute’s Customer Service Centre – level 2, 33 Erskine Street, Sydney.
- The assessment fee of AUD$450 or AUD$400– we accept payments via Money Order, Bank Draft or Credit Card (no cash can be accepted onsite). Please be aware that a failed payment will delay the process.
- Academic documentation (as outlined in the table below).
- IELTS General or Academic Test Report Form (TRF) depending on whether you are applying for a Temporary Visa Subclass 485 or Permanent Residency Visa (outlined below) - we will accept applications onsite without the IELTS documents however the assessment will not be completed until this has been received.
Central Queensland University - Documents Required
Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Bachelor of Accounting + Combined degrees
- Unofficial transcript (to be certified by CQU staff on-site prior to lodgment)
NB - This must include a statement of completion.
- Student ID Card.
Master of Accounting (12 subjects)
- Original or certified copy of undergraduate degree AND
- Unofficial transcript (to be certified by CQU staff on-site prior to lodgment).
- Student ID Card.
Temporary Visa Subclass 485
- IELTS General or Academic band score of at least 6 on each of the 4 components - speaking, reading, listening and writing, OR
Permanent Residency Visa
- IELTS Academic band score of at least 7 on each of the 4 components - speaking, reading, listening and writing.
