Chartered Accountants Womens Series August 2011
On Thursday 18 August around 30 members attended an evening with Alison Braun, runner-up in the 2008 series of The Biggest Loser.
As well as Alison’s amazing 55 kg weight loss during the series she is also an Ambassador for The HelpME campaign (for Lifeline WA) which works to help break down the stigma of mental illness, depression and suicide. A cause close to Alison’s heart, having lost her husband and father of her 3 children, to suicide in late 2008.
During Alison’s presentation she reflected on her life experiences leading up to her decision to apply to participate in the Biggest Loser competition as well as the challenges she faced during the series. Alison’s overarching message to the audience was not to be scared of pushing past your comfort zone - you will be amazed at what you can find inside yourself.
At present Alison is working on designing a sportswear range for ‘real women’ which will be launching next year, she also speaks at various events about her Biggest Loser journey as well as her role as ambassador for Lifeline’s HelpMe campaign.
