The Institute of Chartered Accountants welcomes New South Wales Regional Chair
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (the Institute) welcomes the appointment of Mr Richard Stewart FCA, as Chair of the Institute’s New South Wales Regional Council for 12 months, effective January 2012.
Mr Stewart acknowledges that in the current economic climate, it is important that Institute members continue to be connected with each other and actively contribute not just to the profession but to the communities where they are based.
"The Regional Council's focus is to ensure the needs and contributions of our regional members are fully integrated. Our 2012 plan is focused on using the great networks and experience of the Regional Councillors to continue to improve the Institute’s service across all segments of our NSW membership," says Mr Stewart.
Mr Stewart is a partner in PwC’s Corporate Value Advisory practice. He has been with PwC for 26 years practicing in Australia, the USA and Europe. During this time he has specialised in providing valuation advice in the context of strategic decisions, mergers and acquisitions, disputes and in a variety of taxation and accounting situations.
Mr Stewart is also the author of several Independent Expert Reports in respect of public company transactions and many articles on value related issues. His work covers many industry sectors including insurance, banking, property, professional services, media, transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, industrial products, mining, oil and gas, FMCG, retail and telecommunications.
The Institute’s NSW General Manager, Ms Adelle Evans FCA, says, "Mr Stewart’s expertise, and in particular in the Big 4 corporate value advisory area, brings valuable insights to the Council’s deliberations."
"Mr Stewart is a member of the Institute’s NSW Regional Council and is also chairman of the National Business Valuation Committee. We look forward to continuing to work closely with him."
