Institute announces Yasser El-Ansary as new General Manager - Leadership and Quality

The hunt for a new tax counsel is underway as Yasser El-Ansary CA, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia’s tax counsel, has accepted an internal promotion to the role of General Manager – Leadership & Quality from today.

Since joining the Institute three years ago, Mr El-Ansary has been responsible for leading the Institute’s tax policy agenda during a period of significant public debate and policy reform in Australia. In his new role, he will head the Leadership and Quality team, which is responsible for all of the Institute’s public policy and advocacy work across a wide variety of issues affecting the Australian business community.

Mr El-Ansary has more than 15 years experience in business and tax advisory roles, and prior to the Institute, he worked for organisations including PwC and the Department of the Treasury.

The Institute has now commenced its search for a new tax counsel. In the interim, Mr El-Ansary will continue to oversee the organisation’s work in the tax policy area in addition to his new responsibilities.
