Institute announces Simon Grant as General Manager responsible for State and Territories' offices
Following his tenure since 2002 as General Manager of the Institute’s Queensland office, Simon Grant has been promoted to the position of General Manager Members responsible for all the State and Territories' offices as well as overseeing the Sales and Marketing functions of the Institute.
Simon brings a wealth of stakeholder management experience to the role and understands the concerns of members ranging from the top end of practice to the small business owner, and for members in government and academia.
Using this knowledge, Simon intends to expand this interaction and align Institute member facing activities with a sales and marketing focus so that more members see more parts of the Institute and value and know the wide range of member services that are available. Simon has worked as a Chartered Accountant in commerce and practice and brings that breadth and understanding to the role for the membership.
Prior to joining the Institute, Simon had seven years as a Director in Deloitte Corporate Finance in Brisbane and also worked for a retail bank as a Head of Credit in Sydney for seven years.
Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987 with an antecedent firm that is now part of Deloitte and then worked overseas in a practice and banking environment in the UK and the United States.
Penny Ellenger, who was previously a Relationship Manager with the Institute, takes over Simon’s role as General Manager of the Queensland office.
