Clean Energy legislation introduced

On 13 September 2011, the Clean Energy Bill and related Bills were introduced into Parliament. Subsequently, the Joint Select Committee on Australia's Clean Energy Future Legislation was established to inquire into and report on the provisions of these Bills.

The committee will conduct public hearings on 21 September, and in the week beginning 26 September and will also consider submissions made on the exposure drafts of the Bills. This will include the Institute’s submission on the clean energy legislative package that was lodged in August.

The committee is due to report on or before Friday, 7 October 2011.
