The Institute influences government bodies on tax policy and related issues, communicates important changes in the tax system to its members and participates in relevant consultation forums. These include interactions with government ministers, the federal Treasury, the Board of Taxation, the Australian Tax Office and the Inspector General of Taxation.

The Tax Team at the Institute is currently led by Yasser El-Ansary, the Institute’s General Manager of Leadership & Quality.
