Business Valuation Special Interest Group (BVSIG)

In 2005 the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia established the Business Valuations Special Interest Group (BVSIG). The group provides the level of education required to adopt business valuation processes and to address some of the issues that are outstanding in relation to this practice. The terms of reference for the BVSIG are:

  • To promote the interests of professional business valuers in regulatory and industry matters.
  • To increase and maintain skills of CAs in business valuation.
  • To promote consistency of practice among CA business valuers.
  • To increase CAs' voices on matters of business valuation across other professional bodies.
  • To promote a better understanding of professional valuations accountants in the professional community.
