Cover of Excellence

Members resident in a state or territory of Australia in which a liability capping scheme is operational and holding a Certificate of Public Practice are required to disclose, on their office stationery and other documents that promote or advertise the person or the person's occupation that their liability is limited.

The professional standards legislation prescribes a statement of words for practitioners to use to ensure that consumers are aware of practitioners' participation in a professional standards scheme, being:

"Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation"

This disclosure statement must be printed in a size not less than the face measurement of Times New Roman typeface in 8 point.

If members do not make disclosure on their letterheads, etc, they risk imposition of a fine and, in the event of a claim against them, may lose the limitation that would otherwise be provided.

For further information on the disclosure requirements see Disclosure Requirements.

The Cover of Excellence® logo does NOT replace this requirement for a disclosure statement to be provided to clients. The necessity for the above disclosure statement remains whether or not the Cover of Excellence® logo is used. The Cover of Excellence® logo is an OPTIONAL image to indicate high standards of service and consumer care.

The Cover of Excellence® logo consists of two colours. The "star" is always white. The remainder of the logo can be produced in either Black or PMS 280 Blue. The image must not be reversed or altered. The redundant PSC logo must not be used in conjunction with the Cover of Excellence® logo.

If you would like a copy of the Cover of Excellence Logo please contact the Service Centre – service@charteredaccountants.com.au. [Verification of details is needed before authorisation for use of this logo].

Appropriate use of the logo is discussed in the Cover of Excellence Style Guide.
