Can I defer my enrolment to a future module?

Q: Can I defer my enrolment to a future module?  
 
A: Please note candidates do not have the option to defer their enrolment to a future module. If eligible, the Institute will process a refund for the discontinued module according to the below refund conditions within 3 weeks of receiving a candidate's written confirmation.

Q: How do I discontinue from my current module? 
 
A: If you wish to withdraw from your current module, you need to submit your request in writing to service@charteredaccountants.com.au

Q: Am I eligible for a refund if I withdraw?  
 
A: Depending on when you are withdrawing from your module, you may be eligible for a refund. Please check the refund conditions

Q: Can I request a refund outside of the standard refund timeframes? 
 
A: Requests for refunds outside the standard timeframes will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and must be supported by medical or other documentation. Please email your request with supporting documentation to the Service Centre via service@charteredaccountants.com.au

Q: I have ‘backstop enrolled’ into a module. What do I have to do to discontinue if I am not eligible or do not need to continue with that enrolment? 
 
A: If you have backstop enrolled into a module but are no longer eligible or are not required to sit it anymore, you will be discontinued automatically. This is an automatic process and you will not be required to submit any documentation.

Q: Is there a cost involved for this? 
 
A: No - any backstop enrolments that are cancelled automatically will not incur any administration fees.

Q: What is reflected on my Academic Transcript? 
 
A: The following information is displayed on transcripts: 
  • Merit (for candidates who receive a mark in the top 5% for module

  • Pass (for candidates who pass the module)
  •  
  • Fail (for candidates who fail the module)
  •  
  • Incomplete (for candidates who do not formally withdraw but do not sit the exam)
  •  
  • Discontinued (for candidates who have been withdrawn form a module)
  •  
  • Exempt (for candidates who are exempt from a module)
 
Any backstop enrolments that have been cancelled will not be shown on your academic transcript.  
 
If you have completed the module by sitting a supplementary exam, you will have a ‘Fail’ next to the module and then a corresponding grade next to Supplementary Exam.
