Do you have to complete all modules?
How do I apply for an exemption?
Can I be exempt from both the MAA and TAX modules?

Q: Do you have to complete all modules?

A: In most cases you will need to complete all five modules of the Chartered Accountants program.

There are exemptions available in the following cases:

  • You are a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia and have graduated from the Applied Tax course. If so, you qualify for exemption from the "Taxation" module.
  •

  • You are a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). If so, you qualify for an exemption from the "Management Accounting & Analysis" module.

  • You have completed approved postgraduate subjects within a recognised Master of Taxation/Master of Tax course. Details of the approved courses can be found on the Module Exemption application form. If so, you qualify for exemption from the "Taxation" module.

NB. You may receive exemption from a maximum of one module.
