In previous years, all Institute members received a hard copy of the Annual Report. However, in March 2007 the Institute's by-laws were amended so that a hard copy would only be provided to members who specifically requested a copy (in member subscription forms). 
 
This move was prompted by several factors:

• Members' time: With members more time poor than ever before, more user-friendly summaries of the Institute's performance have been produced this year. This includes a three-minute online presentation from president, Robert DiMonte. If required, the entire Annual Report can still be viewed on the Institute website
• Environmental responsibility: With only 6 per cent of members requesting a hard copy, a massive reduction in paper usage has been achieved. Furthermore, 100 per cent recycled paper was used for the small print run that was required
• Spending members' money wisely: By making the report available online (rather than printing and mailing more than 45,000 hard copies) cost savings have been achieved
