Fees and Current Processing Time

Assessment Fee 
The fee for assessment is based on your desired processing time. You can choose to pay: 
 
AUD$395 (GST Free) - Your assessment will be completed in half the advertised processing time (see below) 
 
AUD$350 (GST Free) - Your assessment will be completed within the advertised time (see below)  
 
You can pay the fee by: 

  • Cheque or international bank draft (payable to The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia). The cheque must be payable on an Australian bank in Australian dollars.

  • AMEX, VISA or Mastercard (please fill in the relevant section of the application form)
    •  
  • Australia Post money orders
    •  
  • Cash and Eftpos in person at an Institute office.
 
Please note: payments in currencies other than Australian dollars and bank transfers are not accepted. If received, your application will be returned. 
 
Processing time 
The current processing times for all qualification assessments and reviews (Migration and the Chartered Accountants Program) are approximately: 
  • 6 - 8 weeks (Overseas qualifications)
  • 1 - 2 weeks (Australian qualifications)
    •  
  • 1 - 2 weeks (Members of Fully and Partially
    • recognised Overseas Bodies)

This processing time is calculated from the date the application is received, provided all required documents have been submitted. If you are required to provide further documentation the processing time will commence once these documents have been received. 
 
We will only provide a written confirmation of receiving the application if you have been specifically instructed to forward DIAC an official receipt. If we require additional information from you we will contact you as soon as possible.  
 
It is important to include an email address in your application if possible as we can then email you with instructions on how to access the Institute's website to check the status of your application. Whilst we are happy to assist you, the best way to check the progress of your application is through our secure website. 
 
To assist us to complete your assessment as quickly as possible please avoid contacting us within the advertised timeframes.
