If you hold Australian or overseas qualifications not accredited by the Institute or you are a member of a partially recognised overseas professional accounting body, we will need to complete an assessment of your qualifications before you lodge an enrolment.

If you hold a non-accredited Australian degree or you are a member of a partially recognised overseas professional accounting body, you will need to lodge your assessment application with our offices by no later than one month prior to enrolment open of the module you wish to undertake.
If you require an overseas assessment please ensure that all documentation is submitted in accordance with the processing times to allow your assessment to be completed prior to enrolment of your preferred module.

If you require your non-accounting qualifications to be assessed for the purposes of enrolling in the Deakin Graduate Certificate in Chartered Accounting Foundations, you will need to submit your assessment application to the Institute at least six weeks prior to the below Deakin Semester application closing dates:

  • 2008 Trimester 3 closing date: 27 October 2008
  • 2009 Trimester 1 closing date: 23 February 2009
  • 2009 Trimester 2 closing date: 29 June 2009
If you are a member of a partially recognised overseas accounting body or have tertiary accounting qualifications obtained overseas, the Institute will need to assess your overseas qualifications.

You can only enrol with an overseas qualification if the following conditions are met:
  • the qualification has been assessed by the Institute prior to enrolling in your first module
  • all of the additional subjects listed on the letter of assessment have been passed.
When the assessment is complete, the Institute will send you a letter of assessment. The assessment letter will indicate any additional study needed for entry to the Chartered Accountants Program.

You will need to provide the documents stated on the email received from the Institute or the Institute's letter of assessment before you commence the Chartered Accountants Program. An application form for assessment of qualifications may be downloaded.
